(<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.wtrf.com\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">WTRF<\/a>) \u2014 West Virginia Governor Jim Justice called out actress Bette Midler again during his Tuesday press conference about her previous remarks denigrating the Mountain State.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-vivid-red-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\"><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wtrf.com\/news\/west-virginia-headlines\/west-virginia-governor-calls-bette-midler-a-new-york-hollywood-elite\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">West Virginia Governor calls Bette Midler a \u2018New York Hollywood elite\u2019<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The  actress lashed out against Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia and the entire state after Manchin said he would not support President Biden\u2019s Build Back Better plan earlier this month.<\/p>\n<p>Justice went further in his defense of the Mountain State Tuesday.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>I go back to Bette Midler. Called us illiterate. Called us poor. Called us all absolutely the bad things that you could call somebody. And did it out of frustration about Sen. Manchin but absolutely took it out on the people of West Virginia.<\/p>\n<p><cite>Gov. Jim Justice<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-vivid-red-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\"><strong><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wtrf.com\/top-stories\/manchin-statement-on-build-back-better-act-i-cannot-vote-to-move-forward-on-this-mammoth-piece-of-legislation\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Manchin statement on Build Back Better Act: \u201cI cannot vote to move forward on this mammoth piece of legislation.\u201d<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Justice cited the state\u2019s response to the pandemic and \u201cdigging\u201d to find solutions as an example of the state\u2019s resolve.<\/p>\n<p>Justice also pointed to West Virginians\u2019 work ethic as a strength, despite what Midler says.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>Bette Midler, you know, wants to criticize. We get dirty because we perform. We absolutely get dirt on our hands because we work, and that\u2019s what we\u2019re gonna keep doing.<\/p>\n<p><cite>Gov. Jim Justice<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Justice also cited updated vaccination numbers to prove the state is working hard against COVID-19.
