An accident at a local mine turned tragic this week. One man is now dead after a fall at the Ohio County mine.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u2013> Name of coal miner killed in Marshall County accident released; Gov. Justice issues statement<\/a><\/strong> <\u2013<\/p>\n Benwood Police Chief Frank Longwell explained the man was an outside contractor doing maintenance work on a beltline.\u00a0The Chief tells 7News that man wasn\u2019t wearing a body harness and fell about 30 feet.\u00a0He was pronounced dead on scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n One person is dead and another had to be life-flighted after a shooting in Steubenville on Friday morning.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u2013> Names of victims in father\/son shooting in Steubenville identified<\/a><\/strong> <\u2013<\/p>\n Police say Edward J. McCormick Jr. the second was found dead at the scene.\u00a0His father, Edward J. McCormick Junior was also shot and was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital.\u00a0Steubenville police say the shooter knocked on the door, and immediately shot the two victims.\u00a0The investigation is still ongoing.\u00a0<\/p>\n The adult accused in a Barnesville hazing incident earlier this year learned his fate this week.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u2013> Barnesville hazing suspect gets 10 days in jail<\/a><\/strong> <\u2013<\/p>\n Jadyn Lucas was sentenced to 10 days in jail.\u00a0He was also expelled from school for 80-days.\u00a0Since he was about to start a new job, the judge said Lucas\u2019s attorney could \u201csubmit a plan for his incarceration\u201d.<\/p>\n \u00a0West Virginia\u2019s state of the state address had to be canceled after Governor Jim Justice tested positive for COVID-19.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u2013> Gov. Justice\u2019s health continues to improve, he says in statement<\/a><\/strong> <\u2013<\/p>\n At first the Governor said he was feeling extremely unwell and received monoclonal antibody treatments.\u00a0However, by later in the week, Governor Justice said although he was still experiencing mild symptoms, he was feeling better and wanted to get back to serving the state.\u00a0<\/p>\n Finally, after being forced to cancel last year due to COVID the 68th<\/sup>\u00a0Ron Mauck OVAC Wrestling tournament was back at WesBanco Arena.\u00a0<\/p>\n
