(WSYR-TV)\u2013 Many people living in Oswego County are taking to social media to demand justice for Jordan Brooks, the 17-year-old Town of Palermo boy with cerebral palsy who died last May from neglect and malnutrition.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>One of those community members is Colleen Scott. Scott had a front-row seat to the Erin Maxwell case 14 years ago when the 11-year-old from the Town of Palermo was murdered. That\u2019s when Scott created the Justice for Erin group.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t know Erin, I didn\u2019t know anyone in her family, but I thought this little girl isn\u2019t gonna die and be forgotten,\u201d Scott said.<\/p>\n<p>Scott didn\u2019t know Jordan Brooks either, but she felt compelled just the same to create a Justice for Jordan <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/814033049553074\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> page.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat was the first thing I thought of after I calmed down, I was like we\u2019re not gonna let this get washed away either,\u201d Scott said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Scott said she\u2019s disgusted to think that the Oswego County Department of Social Services didn\u2019t learn from their mistakes 14 years ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom what I\u2019ve read there were numerous chances for you to save Jordan\u2026 What, you didn\u2019t ask the parents what\u2019s wrong with him? You didn\u2019t notice that he lost all this weight?\u201d Scott asked of the Oswego DSS.<\/p>\n<p>She said the lack of action by DSS couldn\u2019t be justified when Erin died and can\u2019t be justified now with Jordan\u2019s passing.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\">\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWho\u2019s gonna hold the Department of Social Services accountable, no one held them accountable last time they just kept saying it wasn\u2019t our fault.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><cite>Colleen Scott<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n<p>She\u2019s now calling on Oswego County elected leaders to do what she says should have been done long ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just hope that they pay attention and people that are responsible need to be held responsible,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Scott along with other community members will be gathering for a candlelight vigil Saturday, March 26 at 7:30pm on the front lawn of the Mexico High School.
