Scott started his career with the Reno County Sheriff\u2019s Office in 2011 as a deputy and was promoted to jail sergeant in 2015. Before his employment with the Sheriff\u2019s Office, Scott served in the U.S. Army in the Military Police. Smith began his career with the Sheriff\u2019s Office in 2009 and has been assigned as a deputy and Work Release Officer. Smith earned a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master\u2019s Degree in Public Administration.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Sgt. McDaniel has been with the Reno County Sheriff\u2019s Office for about 10 years. He has served as a Jail Deputy and is currently one of the agency&#8217;s Defense Instructors and a Firearm Instructor.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"gnt_ar_b_h2\">Fire Department recognizes \u201cemployees of the year,\u201d others\u00a0<\/h2>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">The Hutchinson Fire Department held its fourth annual awards banquet on April 9 at the department\u2019s Training Center to recognize outstanding achievements in 2020 and 2021.<\/p>\n<aside aria-label=\"advertisement\" class=\"gnt_m gnt_x gnt_x__lbl gnt_x__al\"\/>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">The department\u2019s officers submitted recommendations for individuals to receive various awards for outstanding service for both years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Those included: Rooky of the Year, <strong>Kenzie Stroh-Wolfe<\/strong> and <strong>Cole Ingham<\/strong>; EMT of the Year, <strong>Calen Dunn<\/strong> and <strong>Michael Sooter<\/strong>; Firefighter of the Year<strong>, Jake Gehring<\/strong> and <strong>Martin Swiggart<\/strong>; Officer of the Year, Capt. <strong>Chad Allen<\/strong> and Capt. <strong>Aaron Walton<\/strong>; and the Fire Chief\u2019s Award, Battalion Chief <strong>Rex Albright<\/strong>, Capt. <strong>Ryan Winters<\/strong> and Capt. <strong>Justin Williams<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<aside aria-label=\"advertisement\" class=\"gnt_m gnt_x gnt_x__lbl gnt_x__al\"\/>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">In addition, individuals were recognized for being members of special teams that included technical rescue, hazardous materials, tactical emergency medical services, and fire investigations. Numerous company citations and awards of merit also were distributed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">The department also presented \u201cLetters of Appreciation\u201d to several individuals for special assistance over the period. He is board-certified in Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">\u201cThis designation will provide an opportunity to visit one-on-one with contemporaries throughout the nation to research better ways for us all to treat our patients,\u201d Dr. Al-Halawani stated. \u201cIt will allow me to expand my network, nationally and internationally; continue developing professionally; and be a leader in the field of chest medicine. He has held the position of Truck Driver for KCI. McKenna is a graduate of Hutchinson High School.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\"><strong>Casey Koob<\/strong> was promoted to Corrections Counselor I, also effective on the 17th. Koob started at HCF in October 2015 as a corrections officer. He also held the position of Corrections Supervisor I.
