Our Faculty and Staff Briefs are produced monthly to recognize accomplishments and provide a space where honors &amp; awards, bylines, presentations, grants, service and any other notable items can be showcased.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/news.fsu.edu\/category\/news\/faculty-staff-briefs\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"s3-p-4 s3-gd\">ARCHIVE<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<h4>HONORS AND AWARDS<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Stephen Chelko<\/strong>, Ph.D. (College of Medicine) was recently inducted as a Fellow into the Heart Rhythm Society, which represents more than 7,000 medical, allied health and science professionals from more than 90 countries who specialize in cardiac rhythm disorders.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jacob Eikenberry<\/strong>, M.S.W. (College of Social Work) was honored with the Leadership Award from Saint Louis University.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrew Frank<\/strong>, Ph.D. (Department of History) received the Arthur W. Thompson Award from the Florida Historical Society for \u201cIndigenous Florida,\u201d a special issue of the Florida Historical Quarterly that he coedited.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Radha Modi<\/strong>, Ph.D. and <strong>Alexandra Cockerham<\/strong>, Ph.D. (College of Social Sciences and Public Policy) have been accepted into The Faculty Development and Student Engagement in Data Analysis Project, a multi-million-dollar NSF-funded project that aims to train academics from minority-serving institutions in innovative data analysis teaching methodologies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>David Peters<\/strong> (FSU Campus Recreation) was named to the National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association Services Corporation Board to serve a three-year term. The Board oversees nationwide sponsored programs and services for collegiate recreation\u2019s professional association.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mia Lustria, <\/strong>Ph.D. (School of Information) received the Top Poster Award at the Kentucky Conference on Health Communication for her poster \u201c\u2018I got training on the brain\u2019: Designing Messages to Improve Seniors\u2019 Adherence to Cognitive Assessment and Training Programs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vanessa Dennen,<\/strong> Ph.D. (College of Education) received the Best Paper Award at the 20th International Conference on e-Society 2022 for her paper \u201cTeen Social Media Use During COVID-19: Parent Perceptions and Oversight.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jenny Root,<\/strong> Ph.D. (College of Education) won the Robert M. Gagne Research Award at the 2022 Marvalene Hughes Research in Education Conference.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Charles Barrilleaux<\/strong>, Ph.D. (College of Social Sciences &amp; Public Policy) received the State Politics and Policy Section of the American Political Science Association\u2019s Career Achievement Award at the 2022 State Politics and Policy Conference.<\/p>\n<p><strong>James D. Gwartney<\/strong>, Ph.D. (College of Social Sciences &amp; Public Policy) received the 2022 Clark-Kent-Aronoff Service Award during The Association of Private Enterprise Education\u2019s 46th Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada.<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<h4>GRANTS &amp; FELLOWSHIPS<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Elizabeth Cecil<\/strong>, Ph.D. (Department of Religion) received a $6,000 summer stipend for the project \u201cIndigenous Landscapes and the Building of Hinduism in Early Southeast Asia\u201d from the National Endowment for the Humanities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sonia Hazard<\/strong>, Ph.D. (Department of Religion) received a $6,000 summer stipend for the project \u201cSovereignty, Christianity, and the Book in the Cherokee Diaspora, 1828-1861\u201d from the National Endowment for the Humanities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stephen Tripodi<\/strong>, Ph.D., <strong>Tanya Renn<\/strong>, Ph.D. and <strong>Carrie Pettus<\/strong>, Ph.D. (College of Social Work) were awarded a grant from the Seminole County Sheriff\u2019s Office to test an evidence-driven trauma-responsive intervention delivered to individuals incarcerated in the John E.
