Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday said that the state government shall be requesting the Punjab and Haryana High Court Chief Justice to get the murder case of Sidhu Moosewala<\/strong><\/a> probed by a sitting judge.<\/p>\n

This comes after a letter by the Punjabi singer\u2019s father, Balkaur Singh Moosewala, requesting the probe. Balkaur has also demanded that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and National Investigation Agency (NIA) be roped to assist in the investigation.<\/p>\n

Referring to the demand made by Moosewala\u2019s father, Mann, in a statement, also said that the state government shall \u201censure full cooperation to this enquiry Commission including that from any of the central agency like NIA\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cDue to failures of your government, my son left us for forever. Shubhdeep\u2019s mother asks me where is her son and when will he return home. What answer should I give to her? I hope I will get justice,\u201d Balkaur wrote in the letter.<\/p>\n

He also demanded that the officers, who reviewed his son\u2019s security and made public the orders of pruning his security details, should be held accountable.<\/p>\n

Balkaur also sought a public apology from Punjab Director General of Police for \u201clinking Sidhu Moosewala<\/a>\u2019s death to a gang war\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith his hard work, my son brought laurels for Punjab worldwide. But, Punjab DGP projected my son\u2019s death by linking it to gang war. Hence, I request that Punjab DGP should tender a public apology,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

Mann also directed Punjab DGP to \u201cissue a clarification regarding his yesterday\u2019s press conference about this incident\u201d.<\/p>\n

On Sunday evening, Punjab DGP Viresh Kumar Bhawra said: \u201cIt appears to be an inter-gang rivalry case as his [Moose Wala\u2019s] manager Shagunpreet\u2019s name had surfaced in Vicky Middukhera murder case.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mann said that \u201cSidhu Moosewala was a celebrated artist and cultural icon of Punjab\u201d and he has the highest respect for him. He condemned the murder in the strongest terms and stated that the government will leave no stone unturned to arrest those involved.<\/p>\n

Never called Moosewala a gangster: Punjab DGP<\/h2>\n

Punjab DGP Viresh Kumar Bhawra on Monday clarified that he \u201cnever said on any occasion that Moosewala was a gangster or has links with the gangsters.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a written statement, Bhawra said, \u201cThere are claims and counter claims on social media and by different individuals. Goldy Brar on behalf of Lawrence Bishnoi has taken the responsibility of this murder. During investigation, all aspects will be probed.\u201d<\/p>\n

The DGP added that \u201ca section of media wrongly attributed [statement] to him. He said he held Moose Wala, who was a famous artist and cultural icon, in high regard.<\/p>\n

While strongly condemning the murder of Moose Wala, the DGP said the investigations were on and the guilty would be arrested and put on trial in the court of law.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
