The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.<\/p>\n
Buffalo and Miami each had 17 Academic All-MAC members to pace the men, followed by Kent State (13), Akron (12), and Eastern Michigan (11).<\/p>\n
Central Michigan paced the women’s side with 27 honorees, followed by Kent State (24), and Toledo (19). Akron and Ball State both had 17 earn the distinction, while Buffalo and Miami each saw 16 named to the team. Eastern Michigan had 15 selections, ahead of Bowling Green State (12), Ohio (11), Western Michigan (11), and Northern Illinois (10).<\/p>\n
