{"id":33177,"date":"2022-06-26T13:17:26","date_gmt":"2022-06-26T13:17:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cjstudents.com\/?p=33177"},"modified":"2022-06-26T13:17:26","modified_gmt":"2022-06-26T13:17:26","slug":"father-of-slain-protester-imprisoned-for-seeking-justice","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cjstudents.com\/index.php\/2022\/06\/26\/father-of-slain-protester-imprisoned-for-seeking-justice\/","title":{"rendered":"Father of slain protester imprisoned for seeking justice \u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Amin Ansarifar, the father of slain protester Farzad Ansarifar turned himself in to begin serving his sentence in Behbahan Prison.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_ad jeg_ad_article jnews_content_inline_ads  \">\n<div class=\"ads-wrapper align-right \"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/jnewsio\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"adlink ads_image align-right\"> <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload\" src=\"https:\/\/iran-hrm.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/ad_300x250.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-pin-no-hover=\"true\"\/> <\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Ansarifar\u2019s eldest son, 27-year-old Farzad, was shot and killed in November 2019 by a bullet fired by the state security forces in Behbahan, southern Iran, during the protests over the sudden rise in gasoline prices.<\/p>\n<p>Ansarifar\u2019s daughter, Farzaneh, tweeted the news, saying that her father\u2019s crime was asking: \u201cWho is my son\u2019s killer?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Amin Ansarifar, a veteran of Iran\u2019s 1980-88 war with Iraq, was arrested along with his other son, Arman, on February 19, 2021, on charges of \u201cspreading propaganda\u201d against the regime.<\/p>\n<p>They were released on bail on March 16, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to his arrest, Ansarifar testified online at the Iran Atrocities (Aban) Tribunal in London that heard evidence from him and other witnesses about the crackdown on 2019 protests over the sudden rise in gasoline prices.<\/p>\n<p>Ansarifar\u2019s family members have been harassed by intelligence and security agents for seeking justice for the unjust killing of Farzad and other protesters.<\/p>\n<p>Farzaneh, is another member of the family who has been harassed and prosecuted for seeking justice. In July 2020, she was arrested and held for eight days for participating in a gathering condemning the harsh punishments meted out against people accused of protesting Iran\u2019s dire economic conditions.<\/p>\n<p>During this time, her car was set on fire. Yet she continued to seek justice for her brother and was ultimately charged with \u201cpropaganda against the state,\u201d \u201cinciting the general public\u201d and \u201cgiving interviews to foreign media\u201d in November 2021.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Farzaneh Ansarifar was summoned several times to appear in court on bogus charges brought by Behbahan\u2019s former police special forces commander, Rahman Badri.
