TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Tech and Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) hosted a ‘Living the Dream, Career Strategies for Success’ event at Tulsa Tech’s Peoria Campus.
Dozens of local 10th and 12th graders from various high schools gathered and took part in break out sessions to learn about careers such as criminal justice and many others.
One of the breakout sessions focused on the day and life of those who work in law enforcement.
“The students are really receptive to what we’re telling them,” said TCSO Deputy Tina Resendez. “It’s an eye opener for a lot of them. When they come to these events and just really appreciative of Tulsa tech and everyone that works so hard to put this event together for us.”
Josiah Rhodes, a Tulsa Tech student studying criminal justice told FOX23 the event surprised him.
“I really never thought in a million years I would be here,” Rhodes said. “Through Tulsa Tech, they really changed my mind about things.”
