The Outer Banks Voice – Retiring Magistrate/General Court Justice turns to new career as artist

Doug Brannon’s TRANSITIONS: FROM BLACK TO LIVING COLOR show is on display at Glenn Eure’s Ghost Fleet Gallery in Nags Head.

After two decades in the justice system, Doug Brannon, long-time resident of the Outer Banks, is pursuing a dedicated life as an artist.

For several years, Doug painted with Outer Banks artist Glenn Eure and his introductory solo show is on display at Glenn Eure’s Ghost Fleet Gallery in Nags Head.  Titled TRANSITIONS: FROM BLACK TO LIVING COLOR it features mini and larger bright floral images as well as abstracts.

In addition to Eure’s mentorship, he has completed studies through the Museum of Modern Art in NYC and other online studies through the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Edinburgh.  Three years ago, Doug had a painting in an international show for Abstract Expressionism at MoMA.

The show with its feeling of Spring remains on display through June 16. Glenn Eure Ghost Fleet Gallery hours are 10 am to 4 pm Tuesday thru Saturday. Located at 210 E. Driftwood St.
