PITTSBURGH – Pitt swimming and diving had 10 student-athletes recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) last week, earning Scholar All-American honors.

Women’s diver Amy Read (Communications) earned First Team recognition for the third consecutive year while Meredith Gould (Communications Sciences & Disorders) earned the Scholar All-American nod for the third straight season with second team honors. Emma Gravgaard (Industrial Engineering) earned a spot on the squad for the second straight season, earning second team honors for the first time.

Four other Pitt women earned Second Team All-American honors as Serena Buchwald (Neuroscience), Claire McDaniels (Criminal Justice), Sarah-Helen Shepherd (Epidemiology) and Sophie Yendell (Urban, Community & Regional Planning) all earned a spot on the team for the first time in their Pitt careers.

On the men’s side, freshman Cameron Cash (Biology) was placed on the First Team for the first time in his Pitt career. Josh Parquet (Chemistry) earned Scholar All-American status for the third time in his career (2020, 2021, 2022) while sophomore Jackson Salisbury (Finance) earned Second Team recognition for the first time in his collegiate career.

To qualify for First Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes earned a minimum GPA of 3.50 and participated in their national championship. Second Team selections also earned a 3.50 GPA or higher and achieved a “B” time standard for the national championship or participated art a diving zone qualification meet.

The nine Pitt student-athletes were honored for their impressive combination of academic and athletic success by the CSCAA. Both Pitt men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams were deemed Scholar All-America programs based on overall grade-point averages, the CSCAA announced last week. The teams earned the honor after posting GPAs of 3.07 (men) and 3.45 (women), respectively.
