Tom Faust will be the director of the D.C. Department of Corrections

While Booth came up through his work on criminal justice policy, Faust rose through the ranks over decades managing jails and related programs. Born in Arlington, Faust worked for the Arlington County Sheriff’s Office before serving three terms as the city sheriff, a total of 24 years. As director of the District’s DOC, he implemented inmate education and jobs programs, among other services, according to the city.
