Metro to bump up police patrols on buses and trains
Metro announced it will increase the presence of uniformed and plainclothes police officers at its stations, trains, and buses to reduce crime that the agency says has remained above pre-pandemic levels in the transit system. Other planned strategies include QR codes that riders can scan to contact a transit police tip line, an upcoming anti-harassment public awareness campaign, and outreach and partnerships with organizations to assist people experiencing homelessness or mental illness.
