Tiffin, Ohio — Dr. Johnathon Sharp and Dr. Olga Bertelsen of Tiffin University’s School of Criminal Justice and Social Sciences (CJSS) recently received acknowledgement for outstanding work in their respective fields.

Dr. Sharp, TU Associate Professor of Psychology has been accepted to give a research presentation at the Society for Police and Criminal Psychology in Quebec City, Canada this September.

Prior to acceptance, Sharp was required to undergo a lengthy submission and approval process, wherein his credentials and research findings were reviewed and approved by a committee. The speech will center on the contents of Dr. Sharp’s research essay entitled, “Harm Reduction Strategies and Law Enforcement’s Approach to the Opioid Epidemic.”

Dr. Bertelsen, TU Associate Professor of Global Security and Intelligence had an op-ed accepted for publication in the European academic journal, the Aspen Review. The publication centers on the ongoing war in her homeland of Ukraine and is entitled, “Russia’s ‘Corpse Ideology’ and Its Genocide in Ukraine.”

“I am very pleased that both Dr. Sharp and Dr. Bertelsen are getting the recognition they so richly deserve for their continued commitment to excellence in their research areas,” said Dr. Peter J. Holbrook, Provost and Chief Academic Officer. “Publications and public speaking opportunities are wonderful ways for members of the TU Community to engage with others in academia as well as the greater public, and provide the school of CJSS valuable notoriety. Congratulations are in order for each of them.”
